Brittany Furlan, comedian and former Vine star, recently gave fans a glimpse into her home life with husband Tommy Lee, the legendary Mötley Crüe drummer. Appearing on Kaitlyn Bristowe's Off the Vine podcast on Dec. 18, Furlan shared some unexpected details about Lee's personal grooming preferences.
Furlan revealed that while her 62-year-old husband is impressively tidy, his showering habits might surprise many. “My husband’s very neat, which people wouldn’t expect from someone who’s a musician,” Furlan explained. “They would expect him to be a f**king nightmare, like, dirty. He doesn’t shower a lot, but he’s very neat.”
Lee's infrequent showers, she said, stem from cultural norms he experienced during his childhood in Athens, Greece. “He said … that’s a thing in Europe. You don’t need to shower every day,” Furlan shared, adding that her husband resorts to a “bird bath” routine—using soap, a washcloth, and a sink—on days he skips a full shower.
While Lee opts for a weekly shower, Furlan admitted she is more consistent with her hygiene routine, showering nightly and washing her thick hair about once a week. She humorously noted that her frequent bathing might actually strip her body of essential oils.
Despite their contrasting habits, Furlan remains unfazed by Lee's approach to cleanliness. “No, because he’s so handsome. It’s really crazy,” she said, praising his good looks. “He doesn’t really give me the ick.”
Lee’s openness about his grooming habits places him among other celebrities who have shared unconventional hygiene routines. Stars like Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Jake Gyllenhaal have similarly discussed opting for fewer showers, sparking discussions about personal preferences and cultural influences on cleanliness.
