Missing Woman Spotted on CCTV in Mexico Weeks After Vanishing from LAX

 

Hannah Kobayashi, a 30-year-old woman who mysteriously disappeared three weeks ago during a layover at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), has reportedly been spotted on CCTV footage near the US-Mexico border. The footage, captured between November 12 and 13, shows Kobayashi in Tijuana, approximately 145 miles from Los Angeles.

Kobayashi was on her way to New York when she failed to board her connecting flight at LAX. She sent troubling text messages to loved ones before vanishing, sparking fears for her safety. Her father, Ryan Kobayashi, took his own life after tirelessly searching for his daughter, compounding the family’s tragedy.

Authorities now believe Kobayashi may have deliberately crossed into Mexico. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed that their investigation suggests her missed connection was intentional.

Kobayashi’s sister, Sydni, expressed cautious optimism following the discovery of the surveillance footage. Speaking to reporters, she said, "We remain hopeful and optimistic that the LAPD is doing everything in their power to assist us in locating Hannah. Knowing her so well, I can say with certainty this is not like her."

The family has not publicly commented on claims that Hannah might have chosen to leave on her own. A source close to the investigation suggested, "She’s an adult and can choose to be missing," but her relatives remain concerned given her unusual behavior and cryptic messages.

Hannah’s last known interaction before her disappearance involved a "spiritual awakening" text sent to a friend. Witnesses also reported seeing her with an unidentified man on November 11, raising further questions about her movements.
