Trump Warns Hamas: Release Hostages Before His Inauguration or Face Consequences

Donald Trump, the U.S. President-elect, has issued a stark warning to Hamas, demanding the release of hostages held in Gaza before his inauguration on January 20, 2025. Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump threatened severe repercussions if his demand is not met, declaring that "all hell to pay" would ensue in the Middle East.

The statement came after the Israel Defense Forces confirmed the death of 21-year-old American-Israeli hostage Omer Maxim Neutra. The announcement followed the release of a disturbing video by Hamas showing American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander, who has been in captivity for 420 days, weeping and begging for his life.

In his post, Trump criticized the global response to the hostage crisis, writing:

"Everybody is talking about the hostages who are being held so violently, inhumanely, and against the will of the entire World... But it’s all talk, and no action!"

He further warned:

"If the hostages are not released prior to January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East... Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied history of the United States of America."

Families of those still held captive have issued urgent calls for action, appealing for international support to secure their loved ones' freedom. The October 7, 2023, attack on Israel resulted in 251 hostages being taken, with more than 60 individuals still in Hamas custody.

As tensions rise, Trump's statement has amplified calls for decisive measures to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis, leaving many to await developments as the inauguration date approaches.
