Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen Injured in Horseback Riding Accident

 

Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen, 68, was injured on Sunday after being thrown off a horse while with his family. The incident occurred when Pillen was bucked off a new horse, prompting his immediate hospitalization.

According to the governor's office, Pillen was initially taken to a hospital in Columbus, Nebraska, before being transferred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha for further treatment. Despite the injury, the governor remained conscious and alert, maintaining communication with his staff throughout the ordeal.

Governor Pillen, who was elected in 2022, is expected to stay at the Omaha hospital for several days as he recovers. Prior to his political career, Pillen worked as a veterinarian and ran a livestock operation. His office has not disclosed the specific nature of his injuries, but they assured the public that he is receiving the necessary care and support during his recovery.
