Nina Thomas, the estranged wife of former Seattle Seahawks star Earl Thomas, has been charged with several crimes after federal prosecutors accused her of orchestrating a scheme to defraud her ex-husband out of millions of dollars. According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the alleged fraudulent activity began in September 2021, shortly after Nina filed for divorce in 2020.
Prosecutors allege that Nina and an unnamed accomplice illicitly transferred over $2.7 million in funds and property from Earl Thomas without his consent. The money was reportedly diverted into accounts controlled by the pair and was used for personal expenses, including breast implants and a luxury Hermes Birkin handbag.
An arrest warrant for Nina was issued on December 13, and she was taken into custody three days later, on December 16. Though she was released afterward, she now faces several charges, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and aggravated identity theft.
Nina and Earl Thomas, who were married in a highly publicized ceremony in April 2016, had their relationship end in controversy. The split followed allegations that Nina had confronted Earl with a loaded gun after an incident involving alleged infidelity.
While Nina, who is currently working as a real estate agent, has stayed active on Instagram, she has not yet addressed the fraud allegations publicly.
