Amid rumors suggesting that Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, a controversial UK-based cleric, is at risk of deportation, his solicitor, Dele Olawale, has categorically denied the claims. In a statement issued on December 4, 2024, Olawale dismissed the reports as "fake and false," asserting that the pastor has no criminal record and is not subject to deportation.
“Deportation is for criminals. He is not,” Olawale stated, criticizing British tabloids for spreading what he described as sensationalized and baseless stories. He further clarified that Adegboyega, who has lived in the United Kingdom for over two decades, has faced no convictions during his time in the country.
Olawale acknowledged the scrutiny faced by SPAC Nation, a religious organization linked to Adegboyega, from both the courts and the Charity Commission. However, he emphasized that no charges of wrongdoing were ever brought against the pastor.
The solicitor used the opportunity to critique society’s inclination toward tearing down public figures. “There seems to be joy in seeing individuals fall, including so-called pastors. Society has a big problem,” Olawale remarked.
Describing the deportation allegations as "sensationalism" and "an act of idiocy," Olawale reaffirmed that Adegboyega continues to thrive despite challenges. He concluded his statement by urging the public to disregard the claims and stated that no further comments would be made on the matter.
This clarification comes as rumors of Adegboyega’s deportation have sparked widespread discussion, but the statement aims to put an end to the speculation.
