Nigerian lawyer and model Doris Esiokhayamhe Ogah has emerged as the winner of the 45th edition of the Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant. Representing the South-South region, Ogah claimed the prestigious crown during a grand ceremony held on Thursday, December 19, at the Royal Box, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This year’s pageant, themed “Beyond Beauty: Reigning Together as Queens,” featured 45 contestants from across the nation. After an intense competition, the pool was narrowed down to 20 semifinalists and then to the top 10 finalists.
The top 10 contenders included:

- Abosede Sorinola
- Oluwatofunmi Adekola
- Praise Obafemi
- Diane Paul
- Simeon Obianujuwa
- Faith Ogbele
- Divine Nelson
- Oluwabukumi Ogunsanya
- Doris Esiokhayamhe Ogah
The finalists faced a critical question-and-answer session, with the query: “If you win your crown tonight, how will you use your platform to address the challenges faced by Nigerian youths?”
From the responses, five finalists—Ann Eneanya, Divine Nelson, Diane Paul, Oluwabukumi Ogunsanya, and Doris Ogah—advanced to the final round.
After a final round of questions, the judges crowned Ogah as the new Miss Nigeria. Her eloquence, poise, and vision for addressing the challenges of Nigerian youth set her apart from the competition.
Outgoing queen Shatu Garko, the 44th Miss Nigeria, handed over the crown to Ogah in an emotional moment. Garko encouraged her successor to use the platform to inspire and uplift others.
“To my successor, congratulations on beginning this incredible chapter. Your crown is more than a symbol; it is a tool to inspire and uplift others. Trust yourself, because you have everything it takes to shine in this role,” Garko said during her farewell speech.
Doris Ogah’s victory marks the beginning of a new era for the Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant. With her background as a lawyer and model, Ogah is expected to bring a unique blend of advocacy and elegance to her reign.
The 2024 pageant once again highlighted not just beauty but intelligence and a commitment to social impact, reinforcing the competition's theme of going "beyond beauty."
