A restaurant employee has shared a humorous yet awkward encounter involving former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during their time at the White House. The incident occurred when the Obamas visited the restaurant where the employee worked for dinner.
According to the employee, when it was time to pay for the meal, Barack Obama handed over his credit card, only for it to be declined. The server, who had already been nervous earlier in the evening after spilling hot tea on the former president, was understandably anxious about delivering the bad news.
In a surprising twist, Michelle Obama stepped in and paid for the meal with her own card. As they were about to leave, Barack Obama allegedly made light of the situation, jokingly telling the server, "I won't tell anyone you spilled tea on me if you don't tell anyone my card was declined."
