In a video, the unnamed woman revealed her chilling encounter with Ajayi. She explained that they were both part of a Telegram group where the singer announced a karaoke event. Being a singer herself, she expressed interest and reached out to him privately.
“I told him I was interested in the karaoke, and he sent me an address in Orozo,” she recounted. “He kept calling every day, asking if I was coming. I even shared the chat with my sister, who insisted I should go.”
Despite his persistence, the woman never made it to the event due to her busy work schedule, a decision she now believes saved her life. Screenshots of their WhatsApp conversation reveal Ajayi’s directions and his insistence that she stay overnight after the karaoke.
This near-miss came to light after Ajayi was arrested in Orozo, Abuja, during a Sunday church service. He was caught carrying a sack containing the severed head of his supposed girlfriend. According to witnesses, a church member grew suspicious and checked the sack, uncovering its gruesome contents.
The suspect reportedly claimed the woman died during a heated argument after she allegedly wielded a knife. He admitted to dismembering her body to dispose of it.
However, the victim’s elder sister, Patience Adaidu, refuted claims of a romantic relationship between Salome and Ajayi. She emphasized that the family had no prior knowledge of him and called for a thorough investigation to ensure justice for her sister.
The survivor expressed her gratitude for escaping such a tragic fate and warned others to be cautious. “Thank God for my life. If not for work and my instincts, I could have been his victim,” she said.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and caution when engaging with strangers, even in seemingly innocuous situations.
