Former NFL defensive end Robert Quinn, a Fort Dorchester High School standout and longtime pro, was arrested early Friday following a crash in North Charleston that damaged several vehicles.
Police say the incident happened around 2 a.m. on Dorchester Road, when Quinn’s vehicle allegedly crossed an intersection and median before crashing onto private property. Surveillance footage reportedly shows his car striking a Honda Element, which was then pushed into a Ford F-150, before a Chrysler 300 was also hit.
Responding officers found Quinn with visible head and hand injuries and said he appeared to be slurring his speech. According to the report, he attempted to leave the scene in another vehicle with the help of a woman he had called.
Quinn, who police say had been at a nightclub about an hour before the crash, was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of a collision with property damage and reckless driving. He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Quinn, 34, starred at the University of North Carolina before being drafted by the St. Louis Rams in 2011. Over his NFL career, he played for the Rams, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, and most recently the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.
