Whoopi Goldberg to Remain on The View Despite On-Air Tension

Whoopi Goldberg’s recent outburst on The View — in which she exclaimed “What the hell?!” after being handed a note on live television — sparked widespread speculation about her future on the long-running ABC talk show.

The incident occurred when co-host Sunny Hostin handed Goldberg a note correcting a comment she made about former President Donald Trump. “What the hell? What?” Goldberg said as she read the note. “We don’t know if Trump used an autopen to pardon — it was a joke!” She then tore up the note, which appeared to have come from producers.

The moment quickly circulated on social media, prompting some viewers to question whether Goldberg might face disciplinary action or even be removed from the program.

However, sources close to the production told Daily Mail that Goldberg’s position on the show remains secure. “Whoopi will stay on the show for as long as they will have her,” one insider said. “She’s not as controversial as the other hosts and certainly isn’t even considered to be on the chopping block.”

The source added that Goldberg “gets paid very well and typically follows producers’ direction,” noting that The View has become “part of Whoopi’s life.” Goldberg, who joined the show in 2007, reportedly appreciates the schedule’s flexibility, which allows her to take Fridays off for travel and other projects.

Another source confirmed that ABC has no plans to make changes to the current lineup. “Every few years, the show considers mixing up the panel,” the insider said. “But right now, they’re happy with the direction of the show and many love Whoopi. She is staying for the foreseeable future, as long as she wants, and replacement discussions have not taken place.”

Ratings for The View remain strong, and ABC executives are said to be satisfied with both the program’s performance and the publicity it generates. “There can and always will be issues,” one source said, “but Whoopi isn’t one of them.”
