Fuel scarcity hits across the country and still on biting, said to have been caused by the importation of adulterated premium motor spirit (PMS). The Nigerian national petroleum company (NNPC) claimed to have withdrawn the adulterated fuel. This situation has left many car engines damaged.
During an interview on channels television's sunrise daily, instead of the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina to focus and tell the Nigeria people what the government is doing to address the prevailing fuel situation in the country rather he was praising the administration, that this is the first time in 7 years of the administration that fuel scarcity is hitting the nation and that this administration has restored normalcy in comparison with the previous administrations, first time the pump price has been steady. He claimed that his driver also goes to queue up for hours before he gets fuel.
*My take, we all know that in Nigeria, certain class of people can never be affected by fuel scarcity thereby this worries me on Femi Adesina's claim that his driver also goes to queue up at fuel stations. How true is it that this fuel situation is as a result of imported adulterated fuel? Can't the Nigerian government be sued for damages and negligence? Why can't the Nigerian national petroleum company (NNPC) be sued or probed or investigated? Why are people in Nigerian government being paid for doing nothing or not performing their statory or expected duties? At this stage and age of Nigeria, should we still be concerned about such lapses? What are those charged for this oversight doing and who is questioning them?
