Buhari's Smoke and Mirrors: Unfinished Projects Exposed as Sowore Accuses Commissioned Virtual Ploy

The African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Omoyele Sowore, has launched a scathing attack on President Muhammadu Buhari and the projects he commissioned across the country. Sowore, known for his controversial statements, labeled Buhari as the worst president Nigeria has ever had and criticized the hasty commissioning of incomplete projects.

In a fiery social media post, Sowore highlighted that the projects, including the 2nd Niger Bridge in Delta/Anambra, Lokoja-Oweto Bridge in Nassarawa/Benue, Ikom Bridge in Cross Rivers State, and Kaduna-Kano Road, were far from completion when Buhari inaugurated them. He sarcastically pointed out that the president resorted to virtual commissioning from the comfort of his Aso Rock office to appear "smart" about it. Sowore didn't hold back, branding the entire affair an "IDAN DISASTER" and rallying his followers with the hashtags "#BUHARITHEDISASTER" and "#RevolutionNow."

President Muhammadu Buhari's event, touted as a celebration of the government's infrastructure achievements, included the inauguration of seven legacy projects executed by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing. These projects comprised three major bridges, three Federal Secretariats, and a road. The highlight of the event was the Second Niger Bridge, a long-awaited project that was first conceived in 2005, according to a statement by the President's Media Adviser, Femi Adesina.

While President Buhari aimed to showcase his administration's commitment to improving and expanding the nation's infrastructure, Sowore's controversial remarks have sparked a heated debate about the effectiveness and completion of these projects. The political landscape remains charged as Nigeria moves closer to the 2023 general elections, with Sowore's comments serving as a rallying cry for those critical of Buhari's leadership.
