Diddy Returns Key to the City After Assault Allegations Surface

Music executive Diddy has returned New York City's key after Mayor Eric Adams requested it back due to a viral video showing an assault on Cassie.

In a letter to Diddy, Mayor Adams expressed his disturbance over the video and emphasized his support for domestic abuse survivors. He explained that the Key to the City is awarded to individuals who exemplify model citizenship, a criterion Diddy no longer meets according to the selection committee.

Mayor Adams, who announced that the committee would review the matter, revealed that they recommended revoking Diddy's key and provided an address for its return. Diddy complied by sending the key back.

Diddy had received the Key to the City in September 2023, posing proudly with Adams. However, allegations against him surfaced shortly after, starting with Cassie's lawsuit in November.

Despite denying any wrongdoing, Diddy admitted to beating Cassie and apologized following the video's release. He remains embroiled in multiple sexual assault lawsuits and is under federal investigation for alleged sex and narcotics trafficking, among other serious charges.
