Elon Musk Accused of Inappropriate Relationships with SpaceX Employees

Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk has been accused of having inappropriate relationships with a SpaceX executive and a former intern, as well as propositioning another employee to have his children.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Musk, 52, allegedly had an affair with an intern 20 years his junior and attempted to rekindle the relationship when she later joined the company. He reportedly flew her to Sicily for an exclusive Google conference.

In 2017, Musk allegedly reached out to offer the woman a full-time position at SpaceX, where her role involved identifying company problems. The Journal claims that during this time, he invited her for drinks and inappropriately touched her. He allegedly said, "Oh I’m so bad. I shouldn’t be doing this."

The woman stated in an affidavit that she rejected his advances, although a friend mentioned Musk continued to text her frequently and invited her to his home. In her affidavit, she clarified that there was no romantic relationship during her time at SpaceX and that Musk was never predatory.

Musk is also accused of repeatedly asking another female employee to have children with him before she received a £780,000 payoff and left the company in 2013. Additionally, it is alleged that Musk had a relationship with a female SpaceX executive in 2014, while he was separated but not yet divorced from his ex-wife, Talulah Riley.

The executive, who worked directly for Musk, was reportedly asked to join him for drinks at his Bel-Air mansion, where he praised her for her "beauty and brains." The Journal claims they had sex, and Musk promised her Tesla stock the following morning. She eventually felt used and negotiated a £66,000 exit package from SpaceX.

These allegations follow previous claims that in 2016, Musk propositioned a flight attendant for sex by offering to buy her a horse. Several former employees have accused Musk of making advances or giving them undue attention.

Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX’s Chief Operating Officer, criticized The Wall Street Journal's reporting, calling it a "completely misleading narrative."
