Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), visited former military Heads of State Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar on Wednesday.
The former Vice President met both ex-leaders at their homes in Minna, Niger State. Sharing on X, Atiku wrote: "Today, I paid Sallah homage to former Heads of State Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd) and Gen. Abdulsalami at their residences in Minna, Niger State."
This visit occurs amidst speculations that Atiku is laying the groundwork for a potential 2027 presidential bid. In May, Atiku expressed his determination to continue contesting for the presidency as long as he remains healthy. He made this statement while working to form a coalition with Peter Obi, his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, and other political parties.
