Peoples Democratic Party Suspends Former Lagos Chairman Amid Controversy

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended former Chairman, Chief Segun Adewale, following allegations of misconduct, breach of the party's constitution, and anti-party activities.

The suspension, ratified by the party's executive committee, was prompted by reports from Adewale's ward and local government area. According to the party, Adewale's refusal to address the allegations and attend a fact-finding meeting led to the ratification of his suspension.

However, Adewale contests the suspension, arguing that it lacks procedural validity as he has not been suspended by his ward, as stipulated by the party's constitution. He accuses Chief Olabode George of orchestrating his suspension, claiming that his outspoken criticism of George's leadership contributed to the decision. Adewale asserts that the suspension must be ratified by the national leadership of the party to be valid.
