Spanish Father Punches Comedian On Stage Over Offensive Joke About Infant Son

A video has captured a Spanish father, Alberto Pugilato, attacking comedian Jaime Caravaca on stage after the latter made a derogatory joke about Pugilato's three-month-old son on social media.

The incident occurred during Caravaca's performance in Madrid on Monday night, June 3. Pugilato, a right-wing activist and musician, stormed the stage and struck Caravaca in the head, interrupting his set.

The confrontation stemmed from a controversial tweet by Caravaca in response to a photo Pugilato had posted of his baby on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, "Pride and joy." Caravaca's tweet, which has since been deleted, read, "Nothing and no one can prevent the possibility that he is gay and when he grows up he gets tired of sucking black c–k."

Pugilato responded swiftly on social media, writing, "I assure you that you are going to apologize for what you said about my 3-month-old son and you will discover that real life is not Twitter."

True to his word, Pugilato was later filmed jumping on stage during Caravaca’s monologue and delivering the punch. He yelled, "Do you think my son was going to eat a black man’s d**k? At 3 months? What now? Tell me to my face, here and now."

It is currently unclear if Pugilato will face charges for the assault.

After the incident, Caravaca addressed the attack on social media, stating he had received death threats. He apologized, saying, "What was intended to be a joke was ultimately an unfortunate and not at all appropriate comment on my part. My apologies to anyone who feels affected. Let’s put violence aside and leave a good world for people to grow free."

Pugilato responded, accepting Caravaca’s apology. "I defend freedom of expression in the same way that I defend the right to respond. I do not wish you any harm and I hope this helps others understand that children are sacred. All the best," he tweeted.
