Tragic Suicide Bombing at Gwoza Motor Park Claims Six Lives, Injures Fifteen


 Six people were killed and 15 others injured in a suicide attack at the bustling Marrarraban motor park in Gwoza town, Borno State, on Saturday. The attacker detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) amidst a wedding ceremony, devastating the joyous occasion.

An eyewitness named Buba reported that the explosion shattered the celebration, plunging families and loved ones into mourning. Another witness, Muhammed Kasim, recounted the attack, stating it occurred around 1:30 p.m. "We heard a very loud sound of an explosion, accompanied by dust; then we saw bodies on the ground," he said.

Victims were promptly evacuated to the hospital while security agencies secured the area. Borno State Commissioner of Police (CP), Yusuf Lawal, confirmed the attack, stating that it was carried out by a female suicide bomber. Lawal reported that the Divisional Police Officer in Gwoza confirmed the casualties, with six people killed and 15 others hospitalized.
