Esu Karu Honors FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Other Dignitaries with Traditional Titles


 On Saturday, the Esu Karu of Karu Chiefdom, Mr. Luka Panya-Baba, honored FCT Minister Nyesom Wike with the traditional title of Bakuku. The ceremony took place in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State during the celebration of Panya-Baba's 20th anniversary as the traditional ruler of Karu Chiefdom.

In addition to Wike, other prominent figures were also honored. Rep. Tajudeen Abass, Speaker of the House of Representatives, received the title of 'Kpatta,' meaning 'Shield' of Karu Traditional Council, recognizing his exemplary leadership and support for the Gbagyi ethnic group.

Sen. Phillip Aduda was conferred the title of "Katah," meaning 'Shed,' while the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr. Zaphaniah Jisalo, was awarded as the "Outstanding Son of the Gbagyi nation." Hajiya Silifat Sule, wife of the Nasarawa State governor, received the title of "Anyi Koya," meaning 'Women's Mother,' and Dr. Lazarus Gaza was honored with the title of "Magna," meaning 'Instrument.'

Sen. Aduda, speaking on behalf of the recipients, expressed gratitude for the recognition.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) notes that Karu, the closest satellite town to the FCT, is predominantly inhabited by Gbagyi and Gwandadara-speaking people. It is highly populated, with many FCT workers residing there.
