University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital Clarifies Burna Boy's Contribution to Patient Bills

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) has refuted claims that Nigerian singer Burna Boy covered all the medical bills for patients during his recent visit. According to Mrs. Elabha Meni, the UPTH spokesperson, Burna Boy paid the bills for only selected patients he encountered during his visit, not for all patients as was widely reported.

Despite the clarification, the UPTH management expressed gratitude for Burna Boy's generosity.

"We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11," Meni stated.

She further clarified, "Contrary to reports stating that all patient bills in UPTH were paid, only selected patients received cash gifts or donations. The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients."

Meni praised Burna Boy for his charitable efforts in supporting those in need within the community.
