The heartbreaking news was announced by movie producer Stanley Nwoko, known as Stanley Ontop, through his Instagram account on Sunday.
Nwoko revealed that Stella, who had been battling with leg cancer, breathed her last today, Sunday, June 16th.
In his post, he shared: "Renowned Nollywood actress and veteran Mrs. Stella Ikwuegbu has passed away.
"The esteemed actress departed from this world today after a courageous battle with leg cancer.
"Rest in peace, Madam Stella."
Another colleague, Ijele Ozioma Christy Ejiofor, expressed her sorrow, writing: "Your strength was unparalleled. You faced numerous challenges and emerged victorious. But fate dealt a cruel blow with Eniure/Achiere, and within days, it took you away. Oh, how devastating...
"Stella Ikwuegbu, fondly known as Jennifer, you didn't get to savor life's joys. Why? Why did it have to happen this way?"
