The Accord Party has officially notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of a rescheduling of its upcoming National Convention. Originally set for August 1, 2024, the convention will now take place on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
In a letter titled “Notice of the Change of Date for the National Convention,” signed by Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, the party's National Chairman, and Adebukola A. Ajaja, the National Secretary, the Accord Party cited the planned nationwide protest on August 1 as a key reason for the change. The letter also mentioned unforeseen circumstances necessitating the new date.
The party expressed regret for any inconvenience the rescheduling might cause INEC and assured the commission of their highest regard. The shift in date aims to avoid conflicts with the anticipated nationwide protest and to ensure the convention proceeds smoothly.
