Breaking News: APC Chairman Ganduje Announces Efforts to End Igbo Marginalization

In a decisive move to integrate Igbos more prominently into national politics, Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), announced the party's commitment to ending the marginalization of the Igbo community. This statement was made during the APC South East zonal meeting held on Sunday in Abakaliki.

Ganduje praised the Igbos for their substantial support of the APC and President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He emphasized the necessity of distinguishing between perceived marginalization and the actual political performance of the South East within the party, highlighting recent presidential appointments as evidence of progress.

“The appointments from President Bola Tinubu’s administration have been promising, and with increased involvement in party affairs, we can achieve even more. We must break this cycle of marginalization with determination, unity, and total support for the party and President Tinubu,” Ganduje stated.

He also lauded Ebonyi State for following Imo’s lead in promoting APC activities and commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for upholding the party's ideals. Ganduje urged a concerted effort to gain influence in Anambra, Enugu, and Abia by uniting all stakeholders.

Governor Nwifuru expressed gratitude to the party leaders for their presence, noting that the APC is firmly established in Ebonyi and across the South East. He attributed this success to a policy of inclusiveness, which has brought many stakeholders under the APC umbrella.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo acknowledged the economic hardships facing Nigerians but expressed optimism that President Tinubu’s policies would bring relief if properly implemented.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, called on the South East to recognize and support the federal government’s efforts to end their marginalization. He noted the significant positions Igbos have been given in Tinubu’s administration and highlighted the completion of the South East Development Commission Bill, which awaits the President's assent.

This announcement marks a significant step towards greater political inclusion for the Igbos, signaling a potential shift in the political landscape of Nigeria.
