Hunter Biden Files Lawsuit Against Fox News Over 'Revenge Porn' Allegations

Hunter Biden has filed a lawsuit against Fox News, accusing the network of broadcasting private images of him in what he describes as "revenge pornography."

The dispute revolves around Fox Nation's 2022 series titled "The Trial of Hunter Biden," consisting of six episodes. Fox Nation, owned by Rupert Murdoch's family, is the online platform of the conservative broadcaster. The series portrayed a fictionalized criminal trial where Hunter Biden faced corruption charges, echoing allegations often raised by supporters of Donald Trump regarding Biden's business dealings in Ukraine and China. Despite these claims, no legal actions have been taken against him.

According to the lawsuit, the series allegedly featured real images of Biden "depicting him nude, with exposed intimate parts, and engaged in sexual acts." The complaint asserts that Fox distributed these private images to its vast audience as part of an entertainment program aimed at humiliating and damaging Biden's reputation.

The explicit images reportedly originated from a laptop left by Hunter Biden at a computer repair shop, which he never retrieved. The laptop's contents have been widely circulated, fueling conspiracy theories and causing political embarrassment for Biden.

In response, Fox News issued a statement defending its actions: "This lawsuit, driven by political motives, lacks merit. Mr. Biden did not raise concerns until late April 2024, and we promptly removed the program in response. Fox News has consistently covered newsworthy events related to Mr. Biden in accordance with the First Amendment, and we intend to defend our rights in court."

Recently, Hunter Biden was convicted of illegal possession of a firearm in a federal trial in June, which also brought attention to his past struggles with addiction to alcohol and drugs, as depicted in images found on the laptop. In September, he faces a separate trial for tax fraud, which is expected to attract significant attention during his father's presidential campaign.
