NYSC in Osun Extends Service of 40 Corps Members, Announces Disciplinary Actions

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has announced that 40 corps members from the Batch B Stream II have had their service year extended due to various infractions. Additionally, 23 corps members have been reported as absconded from the total of 3,014 who successfully completed their service.

The announcement was made by NYSC State Coordinator Agbor Ndoma Obim during the passing out parade for the Batch B Stream II corps members on Thursday. In his address, Obim praised the corps members for their exemplary behavior and discipline throughout their service year. He urged the departing members to act as positive ambassadors and to make full use of the skills they acquired through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training.

Obim emphasized the importance of leveraging these skills to achieve self-reliance and personal success. "Leverage on the skills and various training you acquired during your service year and be self-reliant," he advised.

The NYSC coordinator also highlighted the importance of security awareness. He cautioned corps members against traveling at night, underscoring that the NYSC does not condone such practices due to safety concerns. He urged current corps members to take their responsibilities seriously and to be vigilant about their security by reviewing the security pamphlet provided by the scheme.

Obim reassured the corps members that their safety remains a top priority for the NYSC, reflecting the organization’s commitment to the well-being of all participants.
