President Joe Biden Tests Positive for Covid-19, Shows Mild Symptoms

US President Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19, according to a statement released by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. The 81-year-old President, who was in Las Vegas for his first event, was set to address the UnidosUS annual conference, a prominent Latino civil rights organization.

Jean-Pierre confirmed the diagnosis, stating that Biden is vaccinated and has received booster shots, experiencing only mild symptoms. Following the positive test, the President will return to Delaware to self-isolate while continuing to perform his presidential duties remotely.

In a statement, Jean-Pierre elaborated, “He tested positive earlier today following his first event in Las Vegas. He is vaccinated and boosted and is experiencing mild symptoms.”

The White House has assured the public that Biden will continue to fulfill his responsibilities from Delaware and will provide regular updates on his health status. This development comes just days after the President's participation in various engagements, including significant political and public events.
