Table Tennis Draw Announced for Paris 2024 Olympic Games

 



The draw for the table tennis competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was unveiled on Wednesday, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.

In the mixed doubles category, the top seeds include China’s Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, who are joined in the first half by South Korea’s Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yu-bin, Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yun-ju and Chen Szu-yu, and France’s Alexis Lebrun and Yuan Jia Nan. The second half features the No. 2 seeds Tomokazu Harimoto and Hina Hayata of Japan, alongside Doo Hoi Kem and Wong Chun Ting of Hong Kong, China.

For the women’s singles event, Sun Yingsha, the top-seeded player, might face Japan’s Hina Hayata and Puerto Rico’s Adriana Diaz as she advances towards the final. Chen Meng, another strong contender, is in the second half of the draw with Shin Yu-bin, Romania’s Bernadette Szocs, and France’s Prithika Pavade.

On the men’s side, world No. 1 Wang Chuqin will face competitors such as Hugo Calderano of Brazil and Qiu Dang of Germany in the first half. His compatriot Fan Zhendong is in the second half, alongside Lin Yun-ju, Germany’s Dimitrij Ovcharov, Tomokazu Harimoto, and French rising star Felix Lebrun.

In the men’s team event, China and France are positioned in the first half, while Germany, Japan, and Chinese Taipei are in the second half. For the women’s team event, China and South Korea are in the first half, with Japan, Germany, and India in the second half.

The table tennis competition will take place from July 27 to August 10 at South Paris Arena 4 in Paris, promising a showcase of world-class table tennis action.
