US Expected to Support Biafra's Independence, Says Ekpa-Led Government in Exile

The Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, led by Simon Ekpa, has announced that the United States government is expected to issue supportive statements endorsing Biafra's quest for liberation. Ekpa revealed in a statement on Thursday that a series of meetings involving US congressional officials, lobbyists, and stakeholders of BRGIE had taken place.

According to Ekpa, these discussions, facilitated by BRGIE lobbyists, included engagements with prominent international journalists, senior US Congressional leaders, and key Washington, DC think tank figures. He emphasized that these interactions have generated significant interest among US officials to issue favorable statements on BRGIE and Biafra-related issues in the coming months.

Ekpa underscored the achievements of his administration's "multi-dimensional approach" towards achieving Biafran independence, attributing the success partly to effective lobbying efforts.

Meanwhile, within Nigeria, there has been a renewed public outcry for Biafra's liberation and the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). This call has gained momentum with endorsements from South-East governors and lawmakers in the National Assembly. However, the Federal Government has not yet responded to these demands concerning Kanu's release.
