In a significant development, law enforcement officials have announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with the murder of rapper Julio Foolio. During a press conference held on Monday by the Tampa Police Department and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, authorities revealed that their investigation uncovered a complex scheme involving five suspects.
Isaiah Chance, Alicia Andrews, and Sean Gathright are the first three suspects to be apprehended. They face charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The remaining two suspects, believed to have participated in the shooting alongside Gathright, are still at large.
According to police, Foolio was targeted during a birthday celebration in Tampa in June. The rapper, who was frequently updating his location on social media, was tracked by the suspects. The attack occurred in the early hours of June 22nd at a Holiday Inn where Foolio was staying. Surveillance footage captured the suspects approaching the parking lot before ambushing Foolio’s vehicle. Although Foolio was the sole fatality, three others sustained injuries.
Investigators suspect that the suspects traveled from Jacksonville, where Foolio had ongoing conflicts with various groups, often highlighted in his music and online posts. However, Jacksonville Police Sheriff T.K. Waters has clarified that the murder is not linked to any specific rap feud involving other artists.
