John Cena Opens Up About the Challenges of Filming Intimate Scenes in Hollywood

WWE legend and actor John Cena recently opened up about one aspect of the film industry that he finds particularly uncomfortable: filming intimate scenes.

During an appearance on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast with Shannon Sharpe, Cena candidly discussed the challenges he faced while filming a sex scene in Amy Schumer's 2015 comedy, Trainwreck. Known for his commanding presence in the wrestling ring, the 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion admitted that shooting such scenes is far from glamorous.

When Sharpe asked if filming intimate scenes is difficult, Cena didn't hesitate to agree. "Yes!" he responded, emphasizing that while it may look like just two people on screen, the reality is much more complex. "Right now, you guys at home think it's just us," Cena said. "There's a whole f****** world back there." He described the experience as "really embarrassing," pointing out that the presence of a full crew takes away any sense of intimacy.

Cena also highlighted the unique challenges of filming comedic sex scenes, where the goal is often to make the situation as awkward as possible. "It's different," he noted, explaining that the reality of these scenes is far removed from what audiences might imagine.

Despite the discomfort, Cena's role in Trainwreck was part of a highly successful film that grossed $140 million at the box office. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with Amy Schumer and director Judd Apatow, calling the experience valuable for his career.
