Tinubu Media Volunteers Praise Government’s Plan to Transform Nigeria’s Creative Sector

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) have applauded the Federal Government’s ambitious plan to develop Nigeria’s creative sector into a $100 billion industry by 2030. The group’s Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, expressed his support for the initiative in a statement released on Sunday.

Enekwechi highlighted that this initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s broader economic goals of building a $1 trillion economy. He commended the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, for her efforts in advancing this objective. “We note that along this line, Minister Musawa has rolled out several measures towards achieving the goal. Central to this plan is the implementation of robust policies and the fostering of strategic partnerships to drive an economic boom in the creative industry,” Enekwechi stated.

The TMV Chairman praised the Nigerian creative sector for its growing global influence, citing artists such as Rema, Davido, Burna Boy, Flavour, P-Square, and Asake, who have gained international recognition. He expressed enthusiasm for the government’s vision to enhance the entertainment industry’s contribution to Nigeria’s GDP and create job opportunities for the youth.

Enekwechi emphasized that the initiative not only aims to expand the creative industry but also to position Nigeria as Africa’s leading creative hub. This, he believes, will attract significant foreign investment and further boost the country’s economy.

He also lauded Musawa for her forward-thinking plan, which he believes will channel the energy of Nigerian youths into the creative sector, fostering talent and technological advancements. “This plan is in line with President Tinubu’s manifesto and the Renewed Hope agenda, which seeks to provide limitless opportunities for Nigerian youths to showcase their talents,” Enekwechi concluded.
