A Brazilian government worker, Marcelo Serra, was dismissed from his position after his wife publicly confronted him for cheating, an incident that was captured on video by a passerby. Serra, who served as the Conservation and Public Services undersecretary, was caught outside the Praia Grande Hotel in NiterĂ³i with another woman in his car.
In the video, Serra’s wife, Gabrielle Kienan, can be seen storming out of her SUV and angrily approaching his vehicle just as he was about to drive off with the other woman. Furious, Gabrielle pounds on the window before opening the car door, shouting, “You ruined my life, you bastard!” in Portuguese.
A visibly tense Serra eventually steps out to exchange words with his wife of six years, while Gabrielle continues her angry outburst. The video ends with Gabrielle yelling at Serra and even confronting a bystander, as Serra backs away in his car, attempting to flee the scene.
The viral footage quickly gained attention and reached the mayor's office, leading to Serra’s immediate termination. The city’s statement emphasized that "the use of official vehicles for personal purposes is expressly prohibited," but refrained from commenting on the private lives of its employees.
As of now, there have been no updates on the state of Serra’s marriage or whether Gabrielle has decided to leave him.
