Former U.S. President Donald Trump was informed on Tuesday about "real and specific threats" from Iran targeting his life, according to his campaign team.
The Trump campaign explained that Iran’s alleged plan to assassinate the former president is part of the country’s broader effort to create instability and chaos within the United States.
In a press statement, Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director, revealed that intelligence agencies have noticed an increase in coordinated threats against Trump over the past few months.
Cheung further noted that law enforcement agencies are working together to ensure the former president’s safety and to protect the integrity of the upcoming election.
He emphasized that Iran’s regime fears Trump’s strength and is emboldened by the perceived weakness of Vice President Kamala Harris. "Nothing will stop President Trump from fighting for the American people and making America great again," Cheung added.
