The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into bribery allegations made by Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. In a viral video shared by Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky claimed that some unnamed EFCC officers collected N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges.
Olukoyede has now set up a team of investigators to look into the accusations. In a statement signed by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the Commission invited both Bobrisky and Otse to appear at its Lagos office to assist in the investigation.
"The EFCC assures the public that the allegations will be thoroughly investigated, and the findings will be made public," the statement read.
The EFCC's swift action follows widespread attention garnered by the viral video, as the Commission seeks to uphold its integrity and ensure transparency in the matter.
