FIJ Report Reveals Bobrisky Spent Only Three Weeks in Prison, Rest in Secret Location

A recent report by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) has revealed that Nigerian crossdresser Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly known as Bobrisky, spent only three weeks of his six-month prison sentence in custody, with the remainder of his time allegedly spent at a secret location.

Bobrisky had been sentenced to six months in jail on April 12 by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos for Naira abuse. However, he was released on August 5, sparking speculation among the public that he might have received special treatment while serving his sentence.

Social media became abuzz after an online personality, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), shared a video in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed that he served his sentence in a private residence, facilitated by his influential godfather. The video also alleged that Bobrisky paid N15 million to compromise officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop a money laundering charge against him.

According to the FIJ report, Bobrisky was initially taken to Kirikiri prison after his sentencing but mysteriously disappeared from the facility after just three weeks. A prison official told FIJ that Bobrisky was treated like a VIP during his short stay, receiving special privileges before being quietly relocated.

"Bob spent only three weeks with us at Kirikiri before he was taken to another undisclosed location," the official revealed. "It was all arranged, and money was involved."

The source further disclosed that Bobrisky was "guarded like a president" during his time in prison, confirming that the money he allegedly paid for his special treatment was indeed true.

The report has reignited discussions about favoritism in the Nigerian justice system and the alleged influence of wealth and connections in determining how justice is served.
