Former CIA Officer Sentenced to 30 Years for Drugging and Assaulting Dozens of Women

A former CIA officer, Brian Jeffrey Raymond, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting more than two dozen women, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Raymond, 48, from La Mesa, California, was found guilty of performing non-consensual sexual acts and making inappropriate contact with at least 10 women. He also secretly photographed and recorded videos of his victims while they were drugged or unconscious.

Raymond, who had served in the CIA for over 20 years, used dating apps to lure women to his government-leased apartment. Once there, he drugged and assaulted them. These crimes, which started in 2006, occurred in multiple countries, including Mexico and Peru.

The investigation began in May 2020 when Mexican authorities responded to an emergency call from a woman screaming for help on the balcony of Raymond’s residence in Mexico City. The woman later informed the police that Raymond had raped her and drugged her during their time together. A search of Raymond’s electronic devices uncovered numerous videos and photos showing him assaulting women.

In November 2023, Raymond accepted a plea deal, admitting to charges of sexual abuse, abusive contact, coercion, enticement, and transporting obscene material. Several victims shared their experiences in court, with some stating they were unaware of the assaults until law enforcement showed them the disturbing evidence captured by Raymond.
