Kubra Aykut, a popular Turkish influencer, has tragically passed away at the age of 26 after falling from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment building in Istanbul. Aykut, known for her viral "Wedding without a Groom" videos, was found dead in the Sultanbeyli district last Monday.
Reports indicate that a suicide note was discovered with her body, and an investigation has been initiated by the police. Aykut had recently posted concerning messages on social media about her struggles with weight loss, stating, “I’ve gathered my energy, but I can’t seem to gain weight. I lose a kilogram every day. I don’t know what to do; I urgently need to gain weight.”
Aykut reportedly fell from her apartment on Gişe Street in the upscale Hasanpaşa neighborhood. After her body was taken to a private hospital for a post-mortem examination, it was returned to her hometown of Bursa for burial. Friends and loved ones attended the funeral, including fellow influencer Dilan Polat and Enes Çetinkaya, who is believed to have been Aykut's long-term partner.
In her final video shared shortly before her death, Aykut was seen meticulously cleaning her apartment. She gained fame on TikTok in 2023 after hosting a unique wedding ceremony where she "married" herself while wearing a beautiful white dress and tiara, declaring, "I cannot find a worthy groom for myself." She ended the ceremony by driving off in a flower-adorned car, celebrating her independence.
