Obasanjo Highlights Missed Opportunity of Agriculture Initiative, Calls for Dairy Farming in Oyo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed that his Operation Feed the Nation agricultural program could have significantly boosted Nigeria's food security if it had been continued by successive administrations. Obasanjo shared this view on Thursday during an event in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The former president encouraged Nigerians to invest in livestock farming, suggesting that Oyo State could become a key hub for dairy production due to its favorable conditions for livestock farming. He urged the state government to harness its potential by educating local farmers on modern dairy farming practices.

In response, Governor Seyi Makinde, represented by his deputy Mr. Bayo Lawal, reaffirmed his administration's commitment to fostering a conducive business environment. He assured investors that the state government would maintain its efforts to provide security, infrastructure, and supportive policies to encourage business growth in the region.
