Pastor Enoch Adeboye Emphasizes the Importance of Romance in Marriage

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has highlighted the significance of keeping romance alive in marriage, even amid spiritual duties. In a recent social media post, Adeboye, who has been married to his wife Foluke for 57 years, shared that they continue to express their love for each other through pet names when they are alone, reinforcing that "anointing does not reduce romance."

Speaking to couples, especially fellow pastors, Adeboye urged them not to let their spiritual commitments diminish the romance in their relationships. He noted that marriage is a unique bond where intimacy is encouraged, and he cautioned against neglecting romantic gestures.

Adeboye pointed out that some pastors avoid dating their spouses, viewing it as a distraction from their spiritual focus. He referenced the biblical figure Isaac, who, despite being anointed and successful, was still seen being affectionate with his wife Rebekah.

He encouraged couples to rekindle the joy and intimacy they once shared, suggesting that they should make time for fun together and avoid letting life’s pressures overshadow their relationship.

Adeboye recommended small gestures to maintain romance, such as writing poems, leaving sweet notes, and having special names for each other. He believes that with intentional effort, marriages can thrive and feel like "heaven on earth."

He concluded by reminding couples to prioritize their love and keep the romance alive.
