At a rally on Saturday, September 28, former President Donald Trump intensified his critical comments about Vice President Kamala Harris, suggesting she was “mentally impaired” at birth.
Speaking to supporters in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Trump aimed his remarks at undermining Harris’s role in addressing immigration issues. He said, “Joe Biden became mentally impaired. Kamala was born that way,” prompting laughter from the crowd. He added, “Only a mentally disabled person could’ve allowed this to happen to our country. Anybody would know this.”
Trump's comments came as he discussed the significant number of migrants entering the United States in recent months. He has consistently blamed Harris for the increase in migrant crossings, asserting that it is her responsibility as vice president to manage the situation.
However, multiple officials from the Biden administration have clarified that Harris was assigned to focus on understanding the root causes of migration from Central America and to lead diplomatic efforts to address these issues.
The remarks have drawn criticism and raised questions about Trump's rhetoric as he campaigns for the upcoming election.
