2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards: Kendrick Lamar Dominates, Sexyy Red Shines

 



The 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards, celebrating Black excellence in music, culture, and sports, took place on October 8 at Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub in Las Vegas. However, the ceremony aired on BET and VH1 as a taped event on October 15.

Legendary rapper Fat Joe hosted the event for the third time, igniting the crowd with a powerful performance of his hit single "Make It Rain" alongside DJ Spinatik.

Kendrick Lamar emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home eight awards out of 11 nominations, including prestigious titles such as “Lyricist of the Year,” “Hip-Hop Artist of the Year,” and “Song of the Year” for his hit "Not Like Us." Lamar also secured the “Video Director of the Year” award alongside Dave Free for their work on the same track.

Travis Scott received the "I Am Hip-Hop" award, presented by actress and singer Teyana Taylor, in recognition of his contributions to the genre.

The night featured performances from top artists like Trina, Yung Miami, Juicy J, and 2 Chainz, adding to the event’s electrifying atmosphere.
