Buenos Aires Police Raid Hotel in Search for Suspected Drug Supplier Linked to Liam Payne's Tragic Death

Authorities in Buenos Aires, Argentina, have conducted a raid at CasaSur Palermo Hotel as they intensify the search for a hotel worker suspected of supplying drugs to pop star Liam Payne, who tragically died earlier this month. The police are demanding additional CCTV footage from the hotel as part of their investigation.

According to reports from Us Weekly, the raid focused on retrieving registration documents, computer-stored information, and security footage from October 16—the day Payne, aged 31, fell to his death. His bodyguard, Paul Higgins, along with Payne’s father, has been assisting local police in reviewing the surveillance footage.

Prosecutors believe Payne was in a "semi or totally unconscious" state due to a substance-induced psychotic episode when he suffered his fatal fall. The 31-year-old singer died from multiple traumatic injuries, including a skull fracture and extensive internal and external hemorrhaging. Though investigators have ruled out third-party involvement, they are still searching for Payne’s suspected drug dealer, amid allegations that someone from the hotel may have been supplying him with narcotics.

Sources revealed that forensic tests on Payne’s body found traces of cocaine, but the results remain inconclusive. Other reports, originating from the United States, suggest a cocktail of drugs, including the designer narcotic "pink cocaine" (a mix of MDMA, ketamine, and methamphetamine), crack cocaine, and benzodiazepine, may have been in his system at the time of his death.

The Buenos Aires police raid involved a Special Investigations Division and a Technology Investigations Unit, with officers focusing on the hotel’s reception area and Payne's third-floor suite. Argentinian journalist Guiliana Salguero reported that a member of the hotel’s restaurant staff had been suspended in connection with supplying drugs to Payne, though further details are still unfolding.

The investigation continues as officials press the hotel to provide additional security footage and information to aid in solving the circumstances leading to Payne’s tragic passing.
