Super Eagles Climb to 36th in Latest FIFA World Rankings

Nigeria's Super Eagles have advanced in the latest FIFA men's world rankings, moving from 39th to 36th place. The updated rankings were released on Thursday, October 24, on FIFA’s official website.

In addition to their global rise, the Super Eagles also improved their position in Africa, climbing from sixth to fourth place. This improvement comes despite the controversy surrounding their voided match against Libya, due to poor treatment by the Libyan government and football association during the return leg.

Nigeria remains behind Morocco, who hold the top spot in Africa and 13th in the world, followed by Senegal in 20th place and Egypt in 30th.

The Super Eagles’ upcoming opponent in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, Benin Republic, has dropped to 95th place in the world rankings. Meanwhile, Rwanda, another Group D rival, moved up to 126th place, and Libya fell to 122nd.

The Super Eagles' improved ranking reflects their growing strength as they prepare for the next stage of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
