Cole Palmer Named EA SPORTS Player of the Month for September 2024

Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer has been awarded the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for September 2024, following an outstanding performance that saw him lead the Premier League in both goals and goal involvement.

In just four appearances last month, the 22-year-old forward scored five goals and provided one assist. His most remarkable feat came during a match against Brighton & Hove Albion, where he made history by scoring four goals in a sensational 21-minute span during the first half. This achievement made him the first player in Premier League history to score four times in the opening half of a single match.

Palmer continued to impress with an assist in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace and added another goal in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over West Ham United.

This marks Palmer's second EA SPORTS Player of the Month award; he previously won the accolade in April 2024. With this latest win, he has claimed two of the last three awards available, positioning him behind only Frank Lampard, who has four such honors in Chelsea's history.

Palmer topped an eight-man shortlist for the award, which included notable players like Harvey Barnes (Newcastle), Luis Diaz (Liverpool), Gabriel (Arsenal), Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool), Raul Jimenez (Fulham), Dwight McNeil (Everton), and Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa). The winner was determined by combining public votes from the EA SPORTS website with assessments from a panel of football experts.
