Former Portuguese winger Fabio Paim, once a promising young talent alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Sporting Lisbon, recently made headlines with a surprising career shift into the adult film industry. The 36-year-old ex-footballer, who also had a brief loan stint with Chelsea in 2008, revealed earlier this month that he has embarked on a new career as a pornographic actor.
In an interview with Globo Esporte, Paim shared that his decision to enter the adult industry has sparked significant media attention in Portugal. “Here in Portugal, everyone is going crazy,” he said. "It’s good to have sex and still get paid for it,” he added, noting the public’s fascination with his new line of work.
Paim was once considered one of Portugal’s most promising footballers and had trained alongside Ronaldo during his youth years at Sporting. Reflecting on his early potential, he acknowledged that his lack of discipline held him back, preventing him from reaching the heights of his famous former teammate. While Ronaldo went on to secure his legacy as one of football’s greatest players, Paim retired in 2018 without an international cap to his name. "Cristiano is the king; Paim is nobody," he admitted, adding that he was often touted as having more natural talent than Ronaldo. "Talent is just a little bit. Without discipline, you’ll be nobody,” he reflected.
Paim went on to joke about Ronaldo’s success, suggesting that his former teammate should share one of his Ballon d’Or trophies, which he mentioned humorously during a podcast. However, Ronaldo did not take the comment lightly, responding on Instagram with, “Wtf??? Who is this guy?”
Paim’s career has taken a direction few expected, but he remains candid about his choices, gaining attention for his openness as he carves out a path far different from his days on the pitch.
