A fire erupted on a portion of the Lagos State Blue Line rail track on Saturday afternoon, at a section near the NEPA Station by Eko Bridge towards Apogbon.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, confirmed the incident, noting that no casualties were reported. Sharing an update on X, Akosile stated, “The fire broke out at 4:12 pm on a small section of the Lagos Blue Line track. Thankfully, there were no injuries, and train service was not operating at the time.”
Emergency response teams were promptly dispatched, successfully extinguishing the blaze. Akosile reassured the public that the situation is now under control, allowing residents and commuters to resume their normal activities.
