Renowned Afrobeats artist Burna Boy revealed on his Instagram story that he now surpasses many prominent Nigerian politicians and oil moguls in wealth—figures he once admired as the top earners. The Grammy-winning musician, who hails from Port Harcourt, shared this insight on Saturday while urging his followers to avoid underestimating those who are younger or appear less likely to succeed.
Reflecting on his journey, Burna Boy noted, "Growing up, only oil tycoons and politicians seemed to have real wealth, with even G-boys coming next. Music wasn’t part of the conversation when it came to making serious money.” He added, "Now, an ordinary black musician from Port Harcourt has more money than 90% of those he once saw as the top earners."
In a motivational close, he advised his audience not to look down on anyone, saying that even unexpected individuals could rise to success akin to that of tech mogul Elon Musk.
