French-American Social Media Star Lucas Coly Dies at 27 by Suicide

 

Lucas Coly, a French-American rapper and social media personality, has passed away at the age of 27. His manager confirmed the tragic news, stating that Coly died at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on the night of Wednesday, October 2. Authorities have confirmed that the cause of death was suicide.

In an emotional tribute the following day, Coly's manager expressed his grief online, saying, “Rest in peace @iamlucascoly. I love you bro. My heart is ripped in half. Wait for me up there." He added that being Coly’s manager was one of the main reasons he stayed strong through their shared challenges.

Reflecting on their struggles, the manager wrote, "We used to talk about our difficulties but always smiled for the fans. So many people hurt us, but we always had each other. Now, I don’t know what to do. I'd be a hypocrite if I told you not to [take your own life], yet I’m struggling too." He also asked fans to pray for Coly’s longtime girlfriend, Amber H., as she copes with the loss.

The manager confirmed he spoke with Coly just before his death, adding, "For those asking how I know it's true — 1) I was his longtime manager, and 2) because I was on the phone with him moments before it happened."

In his message, he urged people to check on their loved ones, expressing deep regret for not doing more to help Coly. "Lucas loved all his fans. 2024 has been the worst year of my life. He was more than just a client to me; he was like a brother," he concluded.

Just hours before his death, Coly shared a post on his Instagram Story, saying, "I love y’all," followed by an orange heart emoji.

Born in France, Coly moved to the United States at the age of eight. He and Amber gained widespread recognition through their joint YouTube channel, which saw its last update two years ago. In 2016, Coly released his most well-known track, I Just Wanna.

The news of his passing has left fans and friends heartbroken, with many paying tribute to his creative talent and the joy he brought to others through his music and social media presence.
