Legendary Rapper T.I. Announces Retirement After Final Live Performance

Iconic American rapper T.I. has revealed that he will retire from live performances after one last show, marking the end of his celebrated career in hip-hop. In an interview with Atlanta's 96.1 The Beat, T.I. shared that his upcoming performance at the station's Jingle Ball festival on December 19 will be his farewell appearance.

The event, set to take place in Atlanta, will feature a star-studded lineup including Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, The Kid Laroi, Khalid, and Tinashe. Headlining the show, T.I. expressed his gratitude, stating, "I appreciate y'all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore, and I will not be performing."

The 44-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., candidly spoke about his decision to step away from the stage. "I don't want to do it anymore," he said. "I don't want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment anymore."

Young Dro, T.I.'s longtime collaborator and artist signed to his Grand Hustle Records, humorously added that he would take on all of T.I.'s future shows. "I will be picking up all of Tip's shows that he ain't going to. Doing them all," Dro joked during the interview.

While T.I. is preparing for retirement, he clarified that he may perform again in the future but only on his own terms. His final scheduled performance will take place on December 19 at the Jingle Ball in Atlanta, alongside a lineup of other popular artists.

T.I. had previously hinted at his retirement in 2023, following the release of his 12th and final double album, which is still in the works. The album, titled Kill The King and Kiss The King, represents the rapper’s desire to evolve beyond his music career. "It's time to evolve beyond my career as a rapper," he said on the We In Miami podcast last year.

Fans will soon have the opportunity to bid farewell to one of hip-hop's most influential figures as T.I. takes the stage for what he promises to be his final performance.
